Fencing Days

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES THE FENCING DAY HAD TO BE POSTPONED. THE NEW DATE IS SAT 10 JUNE 2006.

Next event: Saturday 10 JUNE 2006, 10am-4pm in Priory Sports Hall.

What are Fencing Days?

The main purpose of these events is that all novice fencers could have the chance to fence a lot of people who they normally don't fence, so that their experience could grow. It is also a good opportunity for everyone not fencing competitively to measure their knowledge against others without the pressures of a competition. For those who wish to compete, but haven't tried it yet, a Fencing Day is an ideal time to get into the routines of getting on the piste on call and also to learn how to referee a fight. The first event, during Term I. will be especially useful for those entering the BUSA championships to have a play with other fencers, to see the difference between club mates, whose moves you know already and 'strangers', whose movements you'll have to be able to pick up on the spot.

Overall, this is a great opportunity for everybody who loves to fence, to have a fun day and get to know others who share this feeling!

The Fencing Days are open to everyone: university students and club fencers as well in the area.

When will be Fencing Days this year?

There is one Fencing Day in each term. All the events will run on Saturdays from 10am-4pm.

These are the dates for year 2005/2006:

Term I.: 12 November 2005 (In Centre for Sport, Whitefriars Street)

Term II.: 18 February 2006 (In Priory Sports Hall, Priory Street)

Term III.: 27 May 2006. (In Priory Sports Hall, Priory Street) NEW DATE: 10 JUNE!!
